Spenser: Gumshoe & Motor mouth

Robert B. Parker's character, Private Detective Spenser, is a favorite of mine. I have a number of the Book on Tape recordings and I used to watch the Robert Urich TV show, Spenser: For Hire. The best part of the books and TV shows is the dialogue. Smart-assed, quick wited, and quick with the come-back, Spenser kicks butt while bitching that he can't drink coffee because of the... caffeine. And let's not forget about about Pearl, The Wonder Dog.

Check out Spenser: Small Vices while its in reruns on the A&E network. And search out the Spenser Book on Tape's which Burt Reynolds reads. Burt does an amazing job re-creating the many different characters and in rendering Spenser the smart, ass he should be.
