I can still remember the original of this book. However, as it has been so long since I was first acquainted with it, I am a bit rusty with the contents. So it was so good to read the updated version of this excellent book.
Books on the contact/abduction subject are saturated with reports from across the pond. While this is not a bad thing it is refreshing to read a book from the British viewpoint, focusing on reports from this great land and it is obvious that we have much to offer.
However, this book does prove that investigators and groups in the UK still treat this subject with much trepidation. Which is totally at odds with the treatment the subject receives from those groups and researchers from the US.
The wealth of reports that have been collected in this updated book demonstrate that the phenomenon of contact/abduction is far from being a rare occurrence. The reports that have been used in this book demonstrate the diversity amongst reports of contact/abduction phenomena in the UK. There are famous cases and not so famous cases, which detail the level of the phenomena in the UK today. I could spend much of this review detailing the many good cases gathered within this book, but I will refrain from doing so because I feel the best way to do that is for you to read the book. I am going to give you my impressions and thoughts on reading this book. I would then urge you to obtain a copy for yourselves and then form you own opinions.
However, although this book has many excellent UK cases there is still something that was nagging at the back of my mind as I read this book? So what was that nagging? Simply this, I feel that this book demonstrates that UK groups and investigators must have a wealth of reports that have yet to see the light of day. There must also be many others that have yet to be reported to, and investigated in the UK. It just takes the work of good researchers such as Philip, those at BUFORA and the many other good researchers in this country to sort the good from the bad and the almost from the almost certainly. In time I am sure that the work of UK researchers, as detailed in the book, will rival that of our friends in the US. However, I do feel that we in the UK Ufology world must work together for the good of the subject. If we do work together it will enable excellent works like 'Without Consent' not to be so few and far between?
Without Consent is a top class read and a book that can be easily read by anyone at any level of interest or involvement in the subject, and by those in the younger age bracket, a definite target group! It is vital in this day, where ufology is beginning to generate so much interest, that there is a good book available that details what is happening in the Contact/abduction phenomena in the UK.
This book is a must for anyone who has any interest in Ufology in this country or who has the original on their shelves. I am sure that this book will become an invaluable aide for researchers, and not just in this country. Philip and Carl have done a superb job in updating this book and I would recommend this book to anyone.
