Dear Mark,

I'm sending this partial review of the lengthy interview now, so that you have something to work with.  When I find time to complete it, I will send you the rest.

The review of "The Starfire Program" with Mr. Joe Dale & Mr. Dick Criswell was a heavy assignment.  For most people it might have been easy to dismiss much of what he said as New Age paranoia about the government and ETs.  But for me it was a challenge to examine each of the *** claims, and based on what I have learned give as objective an evaluation as possible.  There are many statements made by this individual that I have heard before, and most of them have come from people who have had some  connection with the dark side of our government - that is secret military and CIA agendas involved in manipulating the beliefs and opinions of the public.  And what this individual is saying seems to have been heavily influenced by their thinking.

In a recent post on the General Semantics email list there was this:

"If I had only recently heard of Zeno's famous paradox, I would have renamed it "Zeno's Fallacy". Clearly it is false.  And I wouldn't be surprised.  Such is the "uncertain life" of an abstraction.  Many years ago I was told about the "paradox" of the bee -- aerodynamic science, at the time, proved that it couldn't really fly. Is that too radical a proposal: "paradox" is another way of saying "fallacy"?

"I've always thought that paradoxes show a point in your logic, which indicates you do not yet have sufficient information. Like in the days of science history when the particle/wave debate still raged. It seemed like a paradox at first, but then Neils Bohr, I believe, showed how it was merely that they were all approaching the problem from the wrong view point.

"I think one could generalize that to all paradoxes. If one exists, you need to look at the problem from a different viewpoint."

When I hear someone making so many unsubstantiated and extraordinary claims as this individual made, many of which create paradoxes if they are true, and when he continues to frame his sentences by referring to "them" and "they" behind it all, I have to ask not what is true about the statements he made, but why did he make them and who wants him to make them?  Instead of being distracted by the flame, I look for who is feeding the fire, and then ask why?

When I hear someone who has been heavily influenced by people in the CIA, or worse, worked for the CIA, talk about being monitored, being put under surveillance, followed in black cars, and had "attempts" made on their lives, I now take a different approach or perspective.  I recognize that if someone in some covert government project wanted to silence an individual, all they would needed is a very inexpensive piece of lead.  But when so many attempts to silence or harass an individual fail to produce what we may think of as the desired result, I look in the opposite direction.  I consider the possibility that such attempts are part of a program to spur or prompt that individual to do exactly what he or she is doing.  It think of it as a mind jerk or form of reverse psychology, a very effective form of mind control.

In November 1996 I met Lee Shargel at the Philadelphia UFO Convention organized by Bob Eure.  I was shocked by what he said, mostly because here was someone who had been a mainstream engineer in science, someone who had worked for NASA and later for a NASA contractor, who was standing before an audience of UFO enthusiasts giving them the biggest bullshit story I have ever heard, and claiming that this information came directly out of the NASA "X-files" [my term], about which NASA did not want the public to know! His alleged piece of UFO crash metal turned out to be a hoax, and his statements about the Hale Bopp companion (a space ship) sending pictogram messages to NASA big dish receivers in Australia that forewarned of impending Earth changes and of a wave of interstellar energy from a super nova that would soon hit the Earth and cause either mass extinction and/or our elevation to a higher dimensional frequency - did not occur.  He seemed so sincere and well informed.

In a private conversation with him he admitted that he was selected by people in NASA to give this talk because he wrote science fiction novels about space travel, and he all but admitted that he was programmed to give these messages as intentional disinformation and a distraction from the real event.  If you followed the Hale Bopp story carefully, you will remember that pictures of that comet got fewer and fewer, and image quality got poorer the closer it got to Earth.  Why? Was this part of the plan to raise the anxiety of people who were prone to believing such bullshit coming from an unofficial NASA spokesperson, and to see what would happen?  Heaven's Gate happened!

I am inclined to think that it was a big test by NASA to guage public and media reaction, and to obtain more information for their computer programs. Shargel said that NASA had been having numerous top level meetings regarding computer simulations about how an undeniable public landing by ETs (or official confirmation of ET visitation), which was carried worldwide by the media, would affect our economy.  He said that all previous scenarios had an unacceptable conclusion.  In other words, NASA did not have sufficient real information to calculate a plausible scenario of what would happen if ET landed.  Panic and economic collapse were the only computer outcomes.  And what better group to test such a scenario on than a control group of people, many of whom would accept what Shargel said without question?  And if the information got out, who would believe them?

So, with this introduction to where I am coming from, lets address the problematical statements marked in the text.

Your guest's comments are put in quotes, while my responses are not:

"What I know now is that at that time what happened was that, there was *** literally a new frequency born in the universe, and it was such an intensity, and the impact of the change that would occur had to be brought out to the world.  As of that *** equinox, again March of 1994, the word to me was to go out, and give the people what you know."

Before the invention of the radio, most people were unaware of the concept of frequency as a form of energy.  Note how this statement is mirrored by what Shargel said almost four years later.  He was feeding a flame that already existed in the New Age movement regarding spiritual ascension to another higher dimension.  The concept of spiritual ascension is as old as mythology, and can be traced back to the ancient Egyptian religion (e.g. the Gnostic Gospels: The Discourse of the Eight and Ninth; see also:

http://home.sol.no/~noetic/SGN.html

Equinoxes have long been harbingers of change.

"...the fact of the manner is that America is the last holdout of individuals sovereign thinking, and the media that we use, the radio, the Internet, this cannot be controlled, not at this point, not at this point, there're trying real hard."

I took several courses recently in communication and the media.  We learned that newpapers and television are controlled by the gatekeepers, those who run the businesses and whose job it is to first protect that business by maintaining credibility, and second to prevent information from being released which would cause damage to our society and economy.  Therefore, the statement by your guest is false, and represents a paranoid viewpoint tailored to solicit a desired response from his audience.  I think most Americans are smart enough to realize that the information they receive in the news is at least filtered if not politically controlled (benignly
censored).  And what about Great Britain, Canada, Australia, etc.  Are those places where sovereign thinking does not exist any longer?

"Not to get paranoid, but you should be aware of what's going on, what, what is going on right now is with this energy, is that this energy, the scientist are well aware of it."

What is his source of information?  I am a scientist, and to my knowledge there is no such "energy" unless you want to accept what Lee Shargel said as fact.  And that would be falling into the same trap.

"My information a lot comes from *** Andromina.  I have been involved in ceremony with Adrominains, which started out in the South Dakota from back in 1986."

I've heard of the Andromidans.  I've heard of the Andromes, who are alleged to be the race of beings who had extended familial interaction with Rieb and Bert Twiggs in Secret Vows (1992/1995, Berkley Books, NY).  I am aware of many other names allegedly given by their contacts and hosts to contactees and abductees.  I am aware through a friend who is a Native American, and who has been to many sweat lodges, that most Native Americans believe in the Elders, who come from space to teach and guide us humans in spiritual matters.  This concept is not new, and is a story common in myth handed down from most of our oldest civilizations.

I have no objection to your guest claiming that his information mostly comes from a particular group of ETs, because I as well as many other people have received such information.  The question is, can we believe it?  Once again, one has to look not at the flame, but at the burning logs to see whose agenda is being fulfilled if we believe
it.

"*** This new frequency started to come out of black holes in space, and now it has evolved since 1994' to where on 11-11-1996.....What this did on 11-11 was to cause our reality to split into a fragmentation of multi-layers."

Blame everything on those darn black holes!  I can accept the idea that our collective consciousness as a species (if you buy into Carl Yung) is reaching a level of awareness that brings the experiences and knowledge of our ancestors forward (through mythology, religious superstition, and archetypal influence) because of similar personal experiences many people are now having (ranging from spiritual, NDEs, to ET contact and abduction:

The significance of 11-11 is given at:

Science has conveniently dismissed most myths as fabrications of a fanciful mind and/or control group, and therefore not to be taken as fact.  But most scientists have also been unwilling to address the paranormal, mainly because we do not yet have all the tools and understanding to adequately unravel its mysteries.  All you have to do is examine the evidence for paranormal study on such websites as the GhostWeb:

If we look at our awareness being elevated by discovery, largely through science and inquiring minds, as well as access to new technologies such as the ccd chip camcorder (responsible for literally thousands of new images of UFOs), we can perhaps picture why your guest said that our reality is being split into fragmentation of multi-layers.  Battle lines have been formed between different factions in science for decades.  Now the public is being drawn into the fray as more and more people are taking an interest in the supernatural and in UFOs, abductions, etc.

I would not attribute this evolution to any frequency change, but rather to a natural process of intellectual and technological evolution and awareness.  On my webpage at Kynthia's Planetary Mysteries website I review Genisis a book by the esoteric scholar David Wood.  His second book with Ian Campbell, written a decade before the Millennium, tells a story of the comet (the ICE GOD), and how we may have been left a message by our ancestors (see Geneset, Target Earth, 1994, at:

"The confusion that this is causing is probably experienced mainly through everyday life as people who are suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and they use it almost like a joke, we call it part-timer's decease [sic]."

A recent news story on Alzheimer's research (can't locate source) implicated a deficiency in B complex vitamins in the elderly as one root cause for short term memory loss.  Apparently our modern diet of fast food and junk food is woefully lacking in B vitamins, and daily supplements are required.  This is true for elderly people, whose lower metabolism does not absorb enough nutrients as younger people, and whose diets become simplified.  This is particularly true of my 81 year old mother, who has had short term memory loss for the last three years or more.  After examining her diet, and determining that it contained inadequate amounts of the B complex (mostly bread, peanut butter, and potatoe chips were her mainstay), I asked her to supplement her diet with a multivitamin.  When she takes that multivitamin, her short term memory comes back.

Therefore, your guest's statement that, "Sometimes your there, sometimes your not there, sometimes you have the experience of walking into a room, not knowing why you have walked into the room" appears to be unrelated to Alzheimer's disease or any change in Earth frequency.  If "part-timer's disease" is related to poor diet, then there is a cure.

Last July 1997 I heard Michael Ash speak on the Montauk Project.  He claims to be one of the Montauk boys, as do Preston Nichols, Duncan Cameron, and Al Bielek.  During that talk he surprised me by making a connection between loss of psychic abilities, flouride poisoning, and the pineal gland.  He said that an increased concentration of flouride in our water and diet caused the flouro-calcification and destruction of the pineal gland, which among other things is responsible for regulating the sleep cycle through melanin production.

I found this unsupported generalization coming from a non-physician particularly troublesome, because he also implicated the government in a diabolical plan to reduce our psychic abilities through intentional introduction of flouride into our population.  He said it was the government's attempt to dull the minds of those who would become awakened by this new frequency to a higher consciousness, and thereby keep us from recognizing and going through spiritual transformation at the close of the Millennium.  Why?  To maintain control and prevent rapid change, according to Ash.

During my post-graduate education and again during my career in the oil business I was doing palynology, or the study of fossil spores and pollen.  Because of working in a chemical rock-processing laboratory for decades I was exposed to unusually high concentrations of flouride, mostly as trace amounts of hydrogen fouride in the air.  My lungs became damaged from excessive acid exposure, and over time my body became saturated with calcium flouride.  If there is anyone who should have been affected by high concentrations of flouride in his body, I am that person.

And yet I have had no long term or permanent effects from such exposure.  Skull x-rays show no atrophy or damage to my pineal gland, and my psychic abilities have not been recognizably altered.  Thus I am extremely skeptical of people claiming this cause or that for perceived changes in our mental states when they have not backed up such claims with clinical studies and solid evidence.

"The Earth is moving it's magnetic poles.  Uh um.  That's not really what is happening.  What's happening is that the electromagnetic poles are fluctuating.  We still tend to see everything as physical matter, so people are envisioning for the most part some sort of a knitting-needle going through this ball of yarn called the Earth, and that this knitting-needle is going to be moved to a different position."

The Earth's magnetic pole position is continually shifting slowly through time.  Over the past several hundred thousand years the position of magnetic north has shifted considerably based on credible paleomagnetic studies.  Over longer periods of time the magnetic poles of the Earth have flipped or reversed on a semiperiodic basis.  The actual cause is unknown.  During my studies of deep cores in Triassic age rock recovered from six core-holes in New Jersey (when I worked with Dr. Paul Olsen and Dr. Dennis Kent at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, 1988-1993), Kent and his students were able to show magnetic reversals that took place in a few centimeters
of sediment estimated to have been deposited in perhaps less than 2,000 years.

There was an interval of sediment (period of time) where paleomagnetic readings in the cores were fluctuating more than the method of measurement could resolve, giving a nebulous zone of transition.  Based on the history of magnetic reversals, we are currently in a time period where we may be entering another "transitional zone."  Because of limitations in instrument detection/resolution in that study, we really do not know what to expect will happen just before another magnetic pole reversal occurs.  And yet there has been no scientific study published of which I am aware that shows a significant or unusual shift in our current magnetic pole.

There has been some shift, but this is expected and natural - not catastrophic or indicative of major change.  The cries from alarmists and pseudoscientists that our magnetic pole is going to shift or flip, or worse - that our entire planet is going to tumble upside down, are without credible evidence and/or documentation, prophecies and channeled messages notwithstanding.  And yet that does not mean that such could not occur.  The Naval Observatory has been keeping careful records of the Earth's wobble (also known as the Chandler Wobble), tracking any indication of a change.  So far there has been no indication that a change in wobble is happening.

More to follow.
